STAFF BIOGRAPHIES

Jeff Smith is Executive Director for DC VOICE. Jeff is a well respected, lifelong resident of Washington, DC. He has been trained in organizing by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and has utilized his law degree and economics background to fight for equity and opportunity for oppressed communities. Throughout his life, he has demonstrated community leadership as well as strong organizational skills and recently left an elected seat on the DC School Board to join DC VOICE. 

Arielle Etienne is Deputy Director of Operations and Management for DC VOICE. Arielle recently received a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Trinity University. Her work experience includes serving at the Center for Youth Investment Trust Corporation and the Young Women’s Project. Since joining DC VOICE, her belief that all DC students must be provided with the highest quality education has been strengthened.

Erika Landberg is Program Director for DC VOICE. She is a former teacher with a long history of public school involvement in Washington, DC. She was a founder of the Six School Complex, served several times as PTA President at Ward 3 schools, two years as co-chair of Parents United for the DC Public Schools, and eight years as the Ward 3 Representative on the DC Board of Education. She holds education degrees from Augustana College and West Virginia University. Erika and her husband have two sons, both of whom graduated from the DC Public Schools.

Hanna Doerr is Program Associate for DC VOICE. She recently received a master's degree in Public Policy from The George Washington University. Hanna has worked in a variety of settings to improve the outcomes for children, including working at the Forum for Youth Investment and serving as a founding board member of Anacostia Coming Together. Her work at DC VOICE has reinforced her belief that empowering the community to improve their schools is key to achieving educational success.

Jenny Auguste is Program Clerk for DC VOICE. She attends Bowie State University where she studies Pedology. Upon the completion of her degree she would like to become an advocate for Abused Adolescents. Jenny believes her experience at  DC VOICE will allow her to become the voice for the children who need to be heard.

RSPLast fall, 191 volunteers from every ward across the city came together to audit 137 DC Public Schools as part of the 4th Annual Ready Schools Project. The results are in!
